The US financial magazine Global Finance released the list of the world’s 50 largest banks by total assets in 2020 (World’s Biggest Banks 2020), with China’s Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, China Construction Bank, Agricultural Bank of China and Bank of China taking the top four. The asset data of each bank comes from the financial reports of Fitch, Moody’s etc.
The total assets of the world’s 50 largest banks increased by 14% from the previous year. Among them, European banks have total assets of US$26.6 trillion, accounting for 32%; 13 Chinese banks have total assets of US$25.3 trillion, accounting for 31%.
