CE

CE marking is a certification mark that indicates conformity with health, safety, and environmental protection standards for products sold within the European Economic Area (EEA). The CE marking is also found on products sold outside the EEA that are manufactured in, or designed to be sold in, the EEA.

-Find the CE directive(s) that apply to your product.
-Know the essential requirements for your product.
-Determine if you need third-party certification.
-Assess product conformity.
-Create and maintain technical documentation.
-Declaration of Conformity & affixing the CE Mark.

The letters “CE” on electronic devices, are the abbreviation of French phrase “Conformité Européene” which literally means “European Conformity”. The term initially used was “EC Mark” and it was officially replaced by “CE Marking” in the Directive 93/68/EEC in 1993

Many products require CE marking before they can be sold in the EU. CE marking indicates that a product has been assessed by the manufacturer and deemed to meet EU safety, health and environmental protection requirements. It is required for products manufactured anywhere in the world that are then marketed in the EU.

The price of CE certification can differ greatly from one product to another. I have seen prices range from $ 500 to $ 50,000.
